TRESPA
VIRTUON
CLEANING - General
The recommended method for everyday cleaning of Trespa Virtuon
panels is warm water with a mild universal cleaning agent
applied with a sponge or soft nylon brush. This is the ideal
way to remove most light, recent soiling. Dry damp surfaces
with an absorbent cloth.
Removing persistent soiling
Heavier, stubborn stains, such as felt pen, lipstick, shoe
polish, water-soluble paint, nicotine and urine, should be
lathered with a solution of hot water and universal detergent,
or soap-based cleaning agent and, depending on the degree
of dirt, left to soak. Then rinse with clean water and dry
with an absorbent cloth.
Alternatively, the panels can be cleaned with steam or high
water pressure equipment.
Occasionally, it may be necessary to remove old stains or
very stubborn marks with a liquid cleaner containing very
fine polishing particles (beware; this may damage the surface)
or with bleach. Wash the surface down thoroughly afterwards
with clean water and dry with an absorbent cloth.
Removing
specific types of stains
The
Virtuon surface offers at least 24 hours protection against
the following without functional or aesthetic damage to the
surface:
10% hydrochloric acid
10% phosphoric acid
10% sulphuric acid
30% hydrogen peroxide
25% caustic soda
100% thinner
100% methyl ethyl ketone
The Virtuon surface can be effectively disinfected and presents
no problems when used in rooms where food is stored, handled
or used, as long as this is not in contravention of specific
hygiene regulations.
CAUTION
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully when
using any cleaning agent or disinfectant.
Using
a combination of products may cause unwanted chemical reactions
which produce harmful gases.
When
surfaces have been cleaned with aggressive cleaning agents,
they should be rinsed well to dilute the cleaning agent and
prevent it from drying on the panel surface.
